Welcome to Dirty Decadence. We are Theatre With Teeth Theatre Company from Exeter University, and Dirty Decadence is our show that will debut at the Edinburgh Fringe 2014.
Theatre With Teeth presents to you ‘Dirty Decadence’, ‘when pleasure takes over logic’, a modern ballet inspired by Laura Wade’s play ‘Posh’.
The plot follows the story of seven close friends who escape to a country estate for a weekend of fun. However, things begin to fall apart when the group’s indulgences cross the boundaries of friendship and love.
Set to a score of classical music remixed with Dubstep tracks, the music aims to create a vibrant, charged atmosphere. Also taking inspiration from Karl Lagerfeld’s drawings of imperialist Russian parties, we hope to create something that combines a strong narrative, with vibrant aesthetics. Think Matthew Bourne on LSD.
Previews will take place in Exeter at the beginning of June before moving up North to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August.
This is our blog post which will provide weekly updates about our progress, rehearsals, photos and campaigns.
